Headset, HT820, Bluetooth Stereo Review

Headset, HT820, Bluetooth Stereo
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
To start this review I just want to say that I started off very skeptical of this product. I didnt like the look of the headphones and didnt understand how wireless music could sound better than music sent over a cord. I ran into a deal using a corporate discount that made these headphones about $11.50 so I picked them up and here is what I have experienced:
:-:Music Playback:-:
The actual music playback is amazing. The bass is great as well as the actual sound quality. I am using the LGVX9900 from Verizon Wiress as my source device and I couldnt be happier. The actual headphones can get almost air tight over your ear which boosts the bass quality and how intense the sound sounds.
5/5
:-:Mic Quality:-:
I have owned a couple bluetooth headsets since they actually launched and I have to say that this one truly competes. Dispite all being the same technology it really does depend on the phone you have and the service you are using. With my 9900 this device is rockin. I hear the person clear as day and in return so do they. I havent run into any situation where the person on the other end hears an echo like you may find with pervious headsets.
Mic Quality = 4/5
:-:Range:-:
Once again this kind of thing depends on your source device but I can say with my 9900 I was able to walk all over the house without keeping the phone on me and I heard everything as well as if I was standing next to the phone. Sure it will start to cut out if you are far enough, but this is farther than I was able to go with any of my actual bluetooth headsets.
Range: 5/5
:-:Comfort:-:
From what I am sure you have read from other reviews the comfort of the headset is sometimes an issue. I too have found instances of this but I think it is something that needs to be specified. The headset can work itself into an uncomfortable position but this is easily fixed. I found this position occuring when I bent down to pick things up. All you have to do is re-adjust it and your fine. It's not a huge deal but I could live without it.
Comfort: 3/5
:-:Design and Features:-:
Design is a big thing now adays. Everything is jazzed up to make it appeal to whatever market or demagraphic the manufactuer wants. The actual look of the headphones is nice. Sleek design with combined with a nice shape and concept adds to the flare. The problem I have with it is that it sticks out a bit. We call it the Princess Leiah (or however it is spelled) cause it looks like the buns she sported in the movie. The headphones also have a volume up and down button on the left as well as a forward or previous song control on the right ear. It also has a slot so you can actually hook the headset up to non-Bluetooth devices. This works extremely well for my laptop which I do music editing with but doesnt support bluetooth devices. All extra features are extremely handy. With these headphones it isnt about appearance but the quality of the experience your having while using it...and that experience is good.
Design and Features: 3/5
:-:Overall:-:
Overall this headset rocks. With what I know now I would be more than happy to pay $100 for it if needed. This is my first Bluetooth stero headset that I have purchased but I feel i'm starting off strong. I love this headset and I think others would too.
OVERALL: 4/5
-Buy it and enjoy.

Motorola TalkAbout 53727 Earbud with Microphone for All Series Review

Motorola TalkAbout 53727 Earbud with Microphone for All Series
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I ski (or board) all day with this earbud and a 280SLK on a NiMH battery. I have used TalkAbouts while skiing for a few years - but just got the 280 and the earbud, and it makes a WORLD of difference! The 280's lock feature lets me pack it down under layers. The earbud and wires stay well under layers (hat, shirt, etc) as well. Only the mic sticks out from the side, which I can click to talk at any time. It has been over a foot under the snow with my head when I blow a 360 - and still works perfectly. This earbud is a *must* for skiiers (or boarders! I do both.)

This new earbud was designed as an ergonomic replacement to the ordinary earbuds that come with most Bluetooth headsets. After trying out countless headsets and having experienced the same annoying discomfort, we were inspired to come up with our own earbud design. This earbud is uniquely formed into a conical-like shape that fits comfortably inside of the ear canal. It is made from a supple, gel-like material and is designed to fit a wide variety of ears. It will make using your headset so comfortable - you will forget you are wearing one! The unique tapered shape also enhances sound and noise isolation; thereby improving the audibility of the sound and helping to keep external noises out. It's great for those with difficulty in hearing the sound from their headsets and excellent for use in noisy environments.Compatibility List:Aliph: Jawbone 2, JB2 PLUS, PRIME, ICON, ERAAnycom: SIRA-8Bluedio: Model T9Bluespoon: AX2BlueTrek: DUO Stereo, Levi'sFoneGear: MiniBluGoldLantern: Dual G2Jabra: BT2050, BT2070, BT2080Just Wireless: BT-10, BT-15K, BT-35LG: HBM-520, HBM-550, HBM-730, HBM-760, HBM-770MadCatz: 8860 for PS3Motorola: H12, H15, H270, H370, H371, H375, H385, H390, H560, H620, H680, H681, H685, H690, H695, H780, H790, HK200, OASISPlantronics: CS70, CS70N, Voyager 510RocketFish: RF-QX3Samsung: WEP200, WEP450, WEP500, WEP650, WEP700Sony: Bluetooth for PS3Sound ID: 200, 300, 400, SM100, SM200, 510Wireless Gear: 4PR907, 4PR909We will update this list as we test out more models.Disclaimers:Headset not included - Sold individually (1) Currently available in just one size, one size fits most.It is very flexible and can stretch to fit a variety of headsets, but not all of them.Latex-free, BPA free, phthalate free, vinyl chloride freeWashable with liquid soap and water.Patent Pending

Motorola Hands-Free Headset for RAZR V3 Review

Motorola Hands-Free Headset for RAZR V3
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This wired Motorola RAZR headset is better than a Bluetooth one for these reasons:
-the mic is closer to your mouth so your voice will sound better and clearer than a Bluetooth headset where the mic is way up by your ear. I tried a wireless Bluetooth headset and my voice always sounded distant and callers could hear ambient room noise around me. They said I sounded like I was using a speakerphone. But when I use this wired headset, they say my voice is quite clear and loud.
-it's easier to just plug in this wired headset at any time than fool around with the settings for syncing with the Bluetooth when you want to be on headset.
-This headset is easier to carry with you than a Bluetooth one and no AC adapater charger or battery is required.
-This headset is cheaper than a Bluetooth headset and in fact comes bundled with some RAZR phones.
The only reason I'm not rating this headset 5 stars is that I agree with other reviews, the earpiece doesn't fit that snuggly in the ear. This is a minor complaint for me though as the headset does pretty much what I want it to do and it does it nicely.

Motorola H700 Bluetooth Headset Review

Motorola H700 Bluetooth Headset
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The H700 Bluetooth headset is the very best headset you can buy. How do I know? Because I have tested at least 5 bluetooth headsets now and none of them comes even close to this one. By the way, I own a Razr (Verizon) phone.
Of all the headsets I tried...
1. It is the most comfortable fitting
2. It is the lightest
3. It is the only one that does not have a problem reconnecting after it was turned off and back on. Nor does it have to be paired all over again each time I walk out of distance and back.
4. The controls are all very easy to access
5. I do not have anybody complaining on the other end that it echos or is hard to hear
6. I am able to hear very well without turning the volume up all the way. (My hearing has never been the best because I worked in a machine shop most of my life) Some of the other headsets are hard to hear when I am driving in the car but not this one.
7. I like the 4 different light colors that come on for various reasons. It lets me know what is happening.
I would like to end with two comments....
(1) You will not go wrong if you buy the H700 headset.
(2) You will get static if you get too far away from the cell phone but that is true for any and all bluetooth headsets.
Maybe in another 2-3 years technology will advance more in this area but for now the H700 is as good as any other headset when it comes to having static once a person gets further away then say 15-20 feet. (static is NOT a problem with this headset as long as you are within 10 feet. Don't expect anything more or less with any other headset - I know because I tried them.

Motorola H720 Bluetooth Headset Review

Motorola H720 Bluetooth Headset
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have owned an H700 revision B that was always difficult to pair with my Motorola RIZR phone, and I was never really happy with it overall. It was always flaky and finally died, so I took it apart to see if I could repair it, it's dead. It has a Broadcom Bluetooth chipset. My brother has the same model Revision C that still works and has been a much better unit overall. I bought both units from different vendors about a month apart, about three years ago at holiday time.
When I looked hard at the various new models I could find very few that sit against the ear, which is what I like. I strongly dislike the kind that fit in the ear canal. I decided that I would try Motorola again but I was really looking at other brands. Motorola has done a fantastic job with this new H720. I have owned it for about a month now and I really like it. It pairs very easily, fits well around the ear and the sound quality is much better. Overall I am very pleased with the new H720.
Buyers should take notice that the new H720 wall charger comes in MICRO USB and they may need or want to purchase new car chargers or MICRO/MINI adapters that convert to MINI USB. All my past Motorola gear (except new H720) has the MINI USB plug.

Motorola 53725 SLK Headset with Swivel Boom Mic (Black) Review

Motorola 53725 SLK Headset with Swivel Boom Mic (Black)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Okay, it doesn't use batteries, it doesn't light up, and it doesn't cost a lot. But this headset/boom mic is an essential accessory for the TalkAbouts for this simple reason: TalkAbouts have voice-operated control (VOX) when used with a plugin headset/mic. We have also evaluated the earbud/mic combo for bike riders and found it almost unworkable (it picks up road noise and, to me, the earbud causes excruciating pain after a day of use). The headset is a much better solution. The band actually fits OVER a safety helmet, and the closed-foam-cell rubber pad grips the plastic shell securely. The boom mic rejects most road noise, and soon becomes forgotten in the course of routine use. (It quickly comes back to the foreground when I try to sip from my water bottle!) If you purchase one of the TalkAbouts, consider this as your second accessory purchase -- your first should be a carrying holster or case. Now, if Motorola would only agree on a partnership with JABRA Technologies to produce a JABRA Earset for the TalkAbouts, my happiness would be complete ...

Motorola H350 Bluetooth Headset - Black Review

Motorola H350 Bluetooth Headset - Black
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is an entry level Bluetooth headset, but it performs very well for its price range.
Things of note:
- Battery life is decent
- Great sound quality
- Long range reception
- a little loose on the ear
- Turning it on and off takes some getting used to
- omni-directional microphone
Now the reason I love this headset is actually because its technical limitations (how loose, the lack of noise filtration) actually means I only wear it in the car, office, or home. In venues where there is more noise and/or people, it's deficiencies become glaringly apparent, rendering its use unacceptable in public places.
For me, however, that's a small miracle. I enjoy the benefits of Bluetooth technology without walking around a store talking to myself to the ire of anyone in my immediate vicinity. I needed a hands-free device for work and travel. This fits the bill.
If you are tempted, as I sometimes am, to seek a headset grafted to your ear 24/7, this device offers neither the audio quality, the looks, nor the comfort you are looking for. If you're looking for a basic hands-free device that gets the job done, this is a heck of a bargain.

Motorola HS850 Bluetooth Headset (Color Sent Based on Availability. Comes in Black, Blue and Grey, or Silver) Review

Motorola HS850 Bluetooth Headset (Color Sent Based on Availability. Comes in Black, Blue and Grey, or Silver)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Awesome sound quality, battery life, and range.
I can leave my phone in my bedroom, and still make and receive calls on this headset twenty-five - thirty feet away IN MY LIVING ROOM!! Amazing.
Pairing was as snap on a Motorola V80, and my PC, but other phones may be different.
The only drawback I find, as I did on the HS820 review, is that my phone reverts to a default ring for both voice & messages, so the cool MP3 ringtones are useless when using the headset :(
Ear fit is on par with the HS820 as well. It flaps around your ear sometimes and it feels like it's going to fall off, but it doesn't, and it also fits well when wearing sunglasses.
The battery life is unprecedented. Probably the best on the market as of this writing.
Audio quality:
The sound quality is unequaled. The party on the other end of the line will never know you're on a headset, calls are clear and they sound like a wired phone/headset. The caveat is that in windy conditions, it will be impossible to use, but so will be a wired headset, so there's no way around that situation.
The headset functions w/o any issues almost all the time, except in a couple of instances when, if the phone is answered first, and the headset is turned on afterwards, I've encountered a very loud static noise, which would go away when folding the boom and extending again thereby turning off and back on.
A couple of times I've lost calls and had to revert back to using the phone, but that may have been due to external RF since it only happened twice in a three week period.
Fit and finish:
Motorola has a winner here. The look is stylish, and fit and finish is first class.
Size:
This unit is bigger (longer) than the HS820, since it incorporates a boom, which, when extended, increases the overall lenght to 3.3 inches long, making it more noticeable then other integrated units. It also feels slightly heavier, but not by much.
To it's credit, the boom doubles as a on/off switch, making it a no brainer figuring out the unit's state: folded=off and extended=on
Accessories included:
I was surprised that the U.S. version does not come with the leather carry holster and lanyard like the European version does.
Tried to shop for an replacement Motorola holster online and THERE AREN'T ANY, not even replacements for the HS810 which does include the holster.
Also, the U.S charger is noticeably larger then it's European counterpart (Hello Moto, anyone home?).
A USB charger would also have been nicer than a regular AC adapter, specially when traveling, since all one would have to do is plug into a laptop if the battery is running low.
To recap:
Pros:
Easy one-button function
Fit/Finish
Stylish
Battery Life
Call quality
Range
Cons:
Size
Overrides phone's customized rings
Ear fit may prove too loose for smaller ears
No holster provided
No USB charger

Motorola MOTOROKR S9 Bluetooth Stereo Headphones Review

Motorola MOTOROKR S9 Bluetooth Stereo Headphones
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
My initial review was great -- I said "I really love these headphones. They are comfortable, make a quick bluetooth connection with my Ipod (just add a bluetooth dingle like Sony's and an armband Ipod holder) or anything else bluetooth, and provide good quality sound for workouts. They have their minuses -- you can't get them wet, so people with sweaty ears should not buy them, and they are not well made so if the set you get doesn't work right don't wait to return them. But there is no better set of wireless bluetooth headphones available, and it is just great to have your music with you when you run without worrying about wires. The controls on the headset are very easy to operate too."
I stick with what I said before about liking wireless headsets and easy to operate controls, but let me repeat these ARE NOT WELL MADE. My FOURTH set just broke - will no longer take a charge -- and I give up. They always break, always. Sony's headsets are more expensive, but sound just as good, and I will bet they are more durable. I would add that although these headphones are reasonably comfortable, the earpiece tends to bounce out of at least one ear when running, and you can't wear these headphones and sunglasses at the same time.

Stay in tune and connected while strolling down the street with the Motorola Motorokr S9 active Bluetooth headphones. The S9 phones are distinguished by a behind-the-head design that weighs just over an ounce providing the ultimate in comfort whether you're working out or riding mass transit. The phones' ultra-compact 0.51-inch ear buds meanwhile fit softly in the ear even during extended use--a must for long conversations or listening sessions. And users will love the innovative touch-sensitive controls on the sides of the headband. The touch controls let you easily adjust the volume skip or repeat tracks or answer a phone call while on the move. Motorola Miniblue H9 Bluetooth Headset Review

Motorola Miniblue H9 Bluetooth Headset
Average Reviews:

The good: It plants pretty far into the ear. The plus sides are it's a snug fit (you won't have to worry about it falling out with normal usage), you can hear very well, it's very small and light.
The bad: Since it's so small you can lose it very easily. That's no fault of motorola, but something you should be aware of. Now the major bad... this picks up all kinds of background noise, whether it's there or not. If you're in a crowded room then forget it. However even if you're in a quiet room, then there's all kinds of background noise such as buzzing and what not. I'm not sure how the headset is picking up sound and I don't care. It's picking up extra sound, even if it isn't there.
This is for you if you don't want to have conversations and are only checking voicemail. Otherwise.....

Motorola H500 Bluetooth Wireless Headset (Soft Black) Review

Motorola H500 Bluetooth Wireless Headset (Soft Black)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I purchased this unit to use with my motorola V3 Razr cell phone so that I could talk hands-free with people while I did things around the house. It replaced my previous headset, a motorola HS810, which I let get exposed to water (whoops).
Despite the higher price tag on the HS810, I feel this is a better headset. It's very sturdy-I've dropped it on my hardwood floor and it still works just fine. There is no unfolding boom mike with a hinge that wears out. The controls are simple-hold down the call button to turn it on or off, tap it to answer or hang up. Mating the device to my phone was simple and took seconds, and I haven't had it drop a call yet. The microphone seems to work very well-I've never had anyone complain that they couldn't hear me, and I've used the unit outside in windy conditions.
Of course, there are some negatives. I wish the volume was louder-I have it turned up all the way and it still sounds a little faint. The earpeice is tight and secure but it also pinches, so long calls are going to be uncomfortable. It's also not as eye-catching as some other bluetooth headsets.
If you want a workhorse headset that's dependble, reliable, and sturdy, this is the unit for you. It's a great value for the price.

Motorola HX1 Bluetooth Headset Crystal Talk noise cancelation Review

Motorola HX1 Bluetooth Headset Crystal Talk noise cancelation
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
As a cyclist, I've been eager for *serious* development in Bluetooth headsets, but frustrated by just about everything I've tried. Either the headset was unstable in its ear-placement (always threatening to fall out in anything other than a vertical, semi-sedentary position) highly susceptible to external noises, or (usually) both at once. In addition, SO many headsets don't allow voice-dialing, which is rather weird given all the other touted benefits of wearing the things. Up to now, Motorola was hardly better at this than the other usual suspects, but with the HX-1, in my opinion, they've shot to the head of the class.
There are the practical-but-nice touches, starting with an on/off switch that's a *real* switch, and totally unambiguous in its operation and status. Volume control is via a rocker switch with up/down actuation easily discernible by touch. The Send/End and stealth buttons are both easy to actuate, but (at least as far as I'm concerned) offer just enough physical resistance to not be activated by accident.
In-ear fit is super-secure (finally!). Motorola offers four interchangeable earpieces, two each of two designs, which will likely cover most users' fitting issues; I've found that the "earspring" for the right ear works best for me. Comfort is very good, but (as I've stressed in other reviews regarding headphones and earbuds) the care with which you adjust the fit of the device will figure largely in how comfortable-or not-the headset will feel, both short- and long-term. (I read a short user-review of the HX-1 claiming the unit was all but unwearable in terms of comfort...after trying it on for a whole ten minutes. Not quite what I'd term "in-depth.")
Now, for the juicy bits: Cutting to the chase, the stealth (bone-conduction) mode absolutely, positively works. Cycling along at a decent clip, I've had headsets become totally useless without having to slow to a crawl and head for the curb, my words, even at a near-shout, being totally unintelligible to the other party. With the HX-1, I simply hit the stealth button, wait for the voice confirmation ("Stealth mode on"...wow, now all that's missing is a rocket-assist and retractable machine-guns;-), and the *only* sound heard on the other end is that of my voice, thanks to bone-conduction technology. True, my voice isn't as natural-sounding as through the normal CrystalTalk microphone, but highly intelligible. (One person commented that I sounded a bit like Stephen Hawking; although I'm not much of a gamer anymore, if you've ever played Counterstrike, you'll get an idea of the sound, but it's a bit better than that.)
Speaking of CrystalTalk: The default mode on the HX-1 is with the CrystalTalk mic activated. The reason is simple: under most circumstances, CT works just fine, even in relatively noisy environments. (On the bike, I've tested the headset in CT mode up to 15mph with no problems.) Stealth mode, then, is for those times when noise conditions get particularly hairy. You may end up not using stealth mode all that much, but when you need it, it's just a click away.
Other details: Battery life appears to be as advertised. The packaging of the headset is a bit of overkill (really, a cast-aluminum case? I think they need to learn a bit from Apple on this...it's about the candy inside, guys, NOT the wrapper!); Bluetooth Bonus: since the HX-1 can be paired with up to two devices at once, I also paired it with my BT-equipped PowerBook G4, which now allows me to use Skype both hands-free and untethered (as well as with a degree or privacy).
Conclusion: I think this is the best BT headset around at the moment. Yes, at its current selling price, it ought to be. Casual users of headsets probably won't be too interested in popping for this, but for those who spend a lot of time wearing a headset, *especially* while operating a vehicle, do yourself a big favor and check the HX-1 out. From a safety standpoint alone, it's absolutely worth it.

The Motorola Endeavor HX1's bone conduction completely eliminates background noise when needed, while the CrystalTalk noise-cancellation technology works well in most everyday situations. It also has voice prompts and multipoint support. Fits snugly.
