(More customer reviews)At home, I use a pair for AKG K601s and Grado 325is, but needed something closed to use at the library. I've developed a discerning ear when it comes to headphones so I considered the less expensive Koss Porta Pros which have quite a following and these since I'm a big fan of my K601s. I've only listened to the Porta Pros briefly, but I can already say in the short amount of time that I've had these that they blow those out of the water in terms of clarity and crispness. I'm not a huge bass guy and my music isn't very bass-heavy, but these have just the right amount--i.e., they don't exaggerate the sound that's in the original recording. They're also a lot more comfortable and offer great sound isolation compared to other headphones which just sit on your ears.
So, 5 stars for portability, looks, sound quality, comfort. 3 Stars for value. But, if you're willing to pay the premium, it's well worth it.
