(More customer reviews)I purchased the Philips SHL9500/37 headphones to replace my current set of Sony MDR-A34L Vertical In-the-Ear Headphones. I was interested in over-ear rather than in-ear speakers. I've been using the Philips for two days now and I would say I am satisfied.
The sound quality is very similar to the Sony headphones, though slightly better. I listen to my headphones at a relatively low volume (in an office environment), which may play a part in the quality. When I turn up the volume the sound is very rich and full. I am not an expert on headphones, but these do not compare to the headphones in the $150 price range that I have tried - but I'm not sure you can expect them to for less than $20.
The folding design is convenient and makes for safer storage/transport when tossed in a bag. They are comfortable enough for longer periods of time. Overall, I plan to use these as my "everyday" headphones, as they do the job when listening to my MP3 player while at work. For those times that I want a little more quality I'll be looking into a higher quality set of over-ear headphones.
For the price, they fit my need perfectly.
