(More customer reviews)Summary: The Skullcrusher line of headphones is one of Skullcandy's more popular lines and there is a reason for that. There is nothing else out there that will be able to put out as much bass as these without an external amplifier. Now too much can be a bad thing but luckily the built-in amplifier is fully adjustable. They are very comfotable, I can wear them for 8 hours+ and I barely notice they are there.
Pros: Bass strength is second to none. Bass and treble quality is good for stereophones. Strong 1.5m (5ft) cord. Great build quality and comfort. Package includes a 1/4" adapter, airline adapter, and a drawstring travel bag to hold it all. Great price. Lifetime warranty! (Requires registration but who cares, I'll say it again, lifetime warranty!) I love them for gaming. They are fully collapsible and well padded. I can wear for 8 hours+ no problem. They won't fall off of my big head and shouldn't on smaller heads either.
Cons: Mids can be a bit muddled especially with higher bass songs/games. The built in amp requires a single AA battery. The bass adjustment is a little sensitive at times. Some songs will sound bright (mostly classical music). The bag is a little small, I kinda have to work the phones into them. Plastic is fragile but earpieces are strong. Battery life with recharables stinks and disposable alkaline batteries almost have too much punch. They aren't vented so expect some ear sweat if it's hot out.
Comments: The way they get all there bass there are actually 2 30mm drivers. One for treble and upper mids, one 100Hz driver for bass and lower mids. The design does come at a price. These are only stereophones, so they don't have any surround support and can only put out so many sounds at once. So if your are listening to a huge symphony of sound there may be some loss but that will be the case with any phones, in this price range.
UPDATE!!! 11/5 I recently had to return my phones after just a couple months of use as the cable at the connector got loose and sound cut in and out. I mailed them the headphones Monday, they arrived at their warehouse on Wed, and they just shipped me new ones FRIDAY!!! That is FAST. 2 day replacement is insanely good. I am literally freaking out. I think they have a lifetime customer.
